Smarty Pants: Best-Performing Underwear
July 30, 2008 by Megan

I have finally reached the point in my fitness journey where I enjoy and look forward to working out. Okay…that’s not true all the time, but I’ll say that seven out of ten times, I really do look forward to working out. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment when I’ve reached my workout goal, and knowing that I’m taking care of my body feels great. Working out also gives me a shot of self-confidence, which is sometimes sorely needed by this mother of two young children.
When I work out, I really work out! I am a sweater, and I’m not talking about something your grandma knits! I sweat profusely while working out, and the sweat isn’t limited to my armpits! When I’ve finished my workout, my whole body is drenched with sweat. Being soaking wet is uncomfortable enough; the last thing I need is underwear that rides up or bunches as I’m trying to kick my own butt (figuratively, of course). One day, while trying to push my jogging stroller and pull out a wedgie at the same time, I decided that there had to be a better way! A quick scan of the Internet led me to Smarty Pants underwear, which was a priceless discovery!
Smarty Pants (isn’t that a great name?) were developed by Korrine Fitz, a fitness and dance instructor who realized the need for active women to have comfortable, versatile, and functional underwear that went beyond basic bikinis and thongs. Boy was she right! I am never more uncomfortable than when I’m trying to work out with underwear that won’t stay in place!
Smarty Pants look kind of like biker shorts, but they are made out of a soft, super-stretchy, lightweight fabric that wicks away moisture (great for a profuse sweater like me!) and resists, odor, bacteria, fungus, and mildew. At first, it felt strange wearing these longer-legged underwear, but once I got used to them, I could hardly feel them. And since Smarty Pants cover so much more surface area than conventional underwear, I thought they’d be hot, but they weren’t at all! I loved the soft fabric and the fact that the tag and seams weren’t itchy or annoying.
Smarty pants don’t bunch, ride up, or bind, and they leave no panty line at all. Under a pair of jeans or shorts, I couldn’t even tell they were there! A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I love products that are multi-functional, and Smarty Pants fit the bill! I especially love to wear my Smarty Pants while I’m working out, but since they’re so streamlined and comfortable, they’re also great to wear under my casual or dressy clothes.
Sure, satin and lace are sexy, but they aren’t practical or comfortable to wear during a workout, or even a day trip to the zoo. If you’re looking for underwear that are comfortable, versatile, and functional, look to Smarty Pants!
