Introducing a New Column: Mama on the Move with Jeanne Sager

I’ve got to laugh at the childless who think being a stay-at-home mom or even just cutting back to part-time when your child is born is taking the easy way out.

Let’s face it – as moms, we’re always moving. Whether you stay home 24/7 or you’re slaving away at a desk 50 hours per week, there’s no convincing a toddler that we should just sleep in this morning!

So I introduce my column, Mama on the Move, for the moms out there who spend their days on the go, go, go trying to juggle their own lives with the lives of their children. A part-time staff member at an upstate New York newspaper with a photography business and freelance writing career on the side, I’ve been raising my daughter at breakneck speed. She packs her little backpack full of goodies, and off we go on another adventure – Mommy to do an interview, her to meet a family of cows face-to-face or watch cartoons in the office of the guy who books the acts at one of the East Coast’s growing performing arts centers.

I’ll be sharing my tips – whether they’re reviews of the products I can’t live without or just some ideas for getting the most out of the little time we have before our kids grow up and don’t want to be enveloped in a big smushy gushy hug!

If you have some ideas for me, just drop me a line at jeannesager[AT]gmail[DOT]com, and maybe you’ll see your name on Peekaboo!

Please join me in welcoming Jeanne to the Peekaboo Picks team!  I’m so excited to have her on board and to read all of her fabulous finds for us mamas on the move!  -Megan

Hi Jeanne! I think your column is going to be great! I’m a freelance writer, too, and I’m very interested to read about your experiences working with your daughter in tow. :)
