A Crafty Spotlight

I want you all to meet Andrea Stephens.  She is a military wife with some pride!  I first discovered her through a friend who had blogged about her incredible line of handmade purses and bags.  When I saw them, I just had to spread the word.  So here’s the word…

In 2004 Andrea’s husband was deployed while they were stationed in Germany.  During a trip home to the states, Andrea fell in love with fabric purses.  Knowing she had the skills to design and create her own, she busted out her old sewing machine and hasn’t stopped making them since.  Upon returning home from his deployment, her (very supportive) husband held up a pair of his uniform pants and told her she should make a purse out of them.  What a nifty idea, what with the pocket and everything.  Andrea took his inspiration and ran with it.  She currently has an entire line of super cool military purses and accessories available at her Etsy online shop.  I seriously wish I was a part of a military family just so I could have one!  I wonder if I could get one that says “friend of an army wife,”  ya think?
