A Crafty Spotlight

clip_image002I want you all to meet Andrea Stephens.  She is a military wife with some pride!  I first discovered her through a friend who had blogged about her incredible line of handmade purses and bags.  When I saw them, I just had to spread the word.  So here’s the word…

In 2004 Andrea’s husband was deployed while they were stationed in Germany.  During a trip home to the states, Andrea fell in love with fabric purses.  Knowing she had the skills to design and create her own, she busted out her old sewing machine and hasn’t stopped making them since.  Upon returning home from his deployment, her (very supportive) husband held up a pair of his uniform pants and told her she should make a purse out of them.  What a nifty idea, what with the pocket and everything.  Andrea took his inspiration and ran with it.  She currently has an entire line of super cool military purses and accessories available at her Etsy online shop.  I seriously wish I was a part of a military family just so I could have one!  I wonder if I could get one that says “friend of an army wife,”  ya think?

clip_image002[9]Whether you are Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines, you can display your pride and support for your beloved soldier with these awesome bags.  A classic design with some camo flair!   She’s not just about purses though, oh no.  She also has baby clothes, key chains and other crafty items available as well.  I am just loving this baby camo dress!

This talented, busy mom of two and step-mom of two more has found a way to combine her hobby into a fun and fulfilling business opportunity.   Her high quality and super cute designs can be found not only in her Etsy shop but on her Myspace page as well.  Aside from what you see there, Andrea is happy to do custom orders for you.  You could even send her your own BDUs to have your bag truly personalized.  What better way to display your love for the people who serve this country?  After all, these bags are way cuter than a bumper sticker!

The first seven Peekaboo Picks readers who make a purchase over $20, will receive a free gift of their choice!  Either a matching checkbook cover, coin purse or bib.  Just make sure to mention Peekaboo Picks in your order.  Thanks Andrea!

Oh forgot to mention…. even if you are not in the military or married to a military person, a ” I support the troops” name tag wouldnt be bad although its a bit too long lol

Support the Troops name tape on a purse is not to long and very doable. So any one can show thier support. But, I don’t just do camo purse. I do fun fabrics also!!
