**update** This contest is now closed. Thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to our winner, Naomi; we’re sure you will enjoy your fabulous Design a Doll Kit!
In light of the surge in toy recalls last year, we know parents are more discriminating when it comes to purchasing their children’s play items. There has been a demand for handcrafted items, from trusted sources, all in the name of safety for our children. One small company to lead this movement in safer play is Ticche and Bea. We are enamored with their new Design A Doll Kit and are so excited to be swagging one of our lucky readers with this fabulous gift!
Design-A-Doll will teach your child to sew. With the kit, she/he will be able to create the doll’s hairdo, choose her facial features, and make an A-line dress and a pair of pants. The best part is…the kit comes with an 80 minute DVD, showing exactly how to create the doll, step-by-step.
The kit includes everything you need:
· an 18” muslin doll in a top, leggings, and ballet flats
· 4 facial transfers
· 60 yards of yarn: blonde, red, brown
· dress, pants, and headband patterns
· 2 fabric fat quarters
· ribbon
· elastic
· tacky glue
· needles & pins
· scissors
· thread
· seam ripper
· measuring tape
· thimble

SUPER CUTE!!! I love that it’s not electronic and it requires imagination…something there is far too little of these days. My daughter would really appreciate a gift like this! Please enter my name, THANKS!

I would ove to win this for one of my granddaughters. She wants to learn to sew and I think this would be great for her. I am a craft lover and a sewer and love it that a number of my grandchildren are following in my footsteps. This would be a great treat for my one grand daughter.

My adopted daughter is half Caucasian, half Hispanic, with dark hair and green eyes. I’ve had a hard time finding dolls with that color combination, so I’m excited to be able to make a custom doll.

This is such a lovely way for my daughter and I to connect. With the birth of her baby sister, she’s really missing spending time with me.

This would be a fun way for me and my daughter to have some girly fun together. She loves to paint her toes and do her hair and this would be something different and fun!

I would love to make this with my grandchildren. My grandmother and I would take left over material and sew rag dolls. That was always such fun for me as a child.

This would be a fun project to do with my nieces. Why would we like it? Well, anything where I can bond with them would be great since we are moving away from them later this year. It would be a way for them to remember me after I move!

Oh, I have 3 daughters who would LOVE this. I’m trying to teach them to sew, but this would really motivate us to do that. They would love to make dolls that look like them, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

My daughter is 4 going on 20, she’s totally crafty and loves working on projects. Everyday I pick her up from school, she has a painting, picture, a craft something she did that day. This time I want to pick her up and have something special for her!Something we can do together she will never forget.

We live in a neighborhood filled with boys. My daughter is a great sport~ bug hunting & watching the light saber wars. Having a doll kit to make with her would be a great “girly thing” for us to do. We love to craft together!
