Hollywood knows it takes a Twirl to Raise a Girl

January 31st, 2008 · 2 Comments add to kirtsy

twirlygirl-1 I went to the doctor’s this morning.  34 weeks pregnant.  My little girl is almost here!  Which means the hunt for all things girly has officially begun.  I’ve been dreaming of playing dress-up with my little girl, as we sip our imaginary tea, and play with each other’s hair.  Can you tell I’m excited to be having a girl?

Perhaps the most exciting thing about having a girl is that I get to buy dresses, lots and lots of dresses!  But I’m sure if my little girl is anything like me, she’ll have strong opinions about whatever goes on her body.  I’m envisioning her demanding the following criteria be met. 1) lots of bright colors 2) comfy and soft 3) plenty of hearts, butterflies, and flowers and (most important of all) 4) TWIRLY!

twirlygirl-2 The most lovely, hip, and TWIRLY dresses can be found at one of Tinsletown’s faves, The Twirly Girl Shop.  Owner Cynthia Jamin knows a thing or two about Hollywood, being an actress herself.  She had guest spots on Friends, Seinfeld, Will & Grace, Veronica’s Closet, E.R., and Just Shoot Me.  But her most important role came when she met her comedy writer husband, Michael Jamin, and became a mother to two little girls, Roxy 6 and Lola 4.

Inspired by her vivacious daughters and their love for twirly dresses, the Twirly Girl Shop was born.  The shop offers an amazing line of reversible dresses, leggings, long sleeve tees and Fancy Pants, and even offers customizable dresses with over 40 fabrics to choose from.

If you’re the proud mother of a little girl, I suggest you take a twirl over to TwirlyGirlShop.com.

After spying one of Cynthia Jamin’s daughters in her TWIRLYGIRL dress on a trip to L.A., I couldn’t wait to order four of the dresses for gifts to my friends’ little girls, ages 2 to 4 years old. Not only do the moms love the dresses, but as one of my girlfriends told me….”Leah insists on wearing her dress to ballet class instead of a tutu!” And another mom told me her daughter wears it to every birthday party she attends. “It’s my special party dresss,” she insists. Oh yes, one mom told me she loves it when they travel so she can roll it up and it never wrinkles. I’m going to order the T’s and fancy pants for the next birthdays!

On a recent trip to Palm Desert, I stopped by a Children’s Clothing Store to browse for my two granddaughters (4 & 6 y/o). I spied a separate rack of dresses for TWIRLYGIRL and was immediatley captivated by the luminous patterns and fabrics of the skirts and the softness of the tops of the dresses. Each dress was different and all were reversible. I knew instantly that my granddaughters (and their mom) would love these dresses. I was right…the minute they tried them on they both twirled to their heart’s delight. My daughter is happy with the “wash & wearability” and we are both impressed by the craftsmanship.
Hooray for Cynthia Jamin and her marvelous TWIRLYGIRL!
