I love word games. Every night it’s Wheel of Fortune, every Sunday it’s the weekly Scrabble tournament. Not to mention the continuous game of Scrabulous my hubby and I have going on Facebook. So needless to say, I was stoked to find another super fun word game (via Tangled and True), this one a vocabulary game (I kick butt in vocabulary!) that also helps to feed the hungry. Feed the hungry? Yep, that’s right. It’s called Free Rice and it ROCKS!
Playing is fun and easy. It’s simply a series of vocabulary words with multiple meanings. Select the right one, and 20 grains of rice are donated to the United Nations World Food Program. It’s pretty exciting to watch your grains of rice multiply and it’s totally addicting, in a good way. At the rate I’ve been playing, I figure I’ll be feeding a small country in Africa by the end of the month!
But in all seriousness, it’s a great game and it’s a great cause. So go sharpen your vocab skills and help the fight against hunger at www.freerice.com.
