Who knew nursing could look so good?

November 15th, 2007 · No Comments add to kirtsy

Learning to breastfeed is a daunting task for all new moms and their precious new babies. Nursing in public adds a whole new level of anxiety to the mix. Fears of boob flashing, milk spraying and baby frustration have held many a new mom indoors in the safety and comfort of their own cozy couches. But while the process takes practice (it’s hard to get that baby to latch on without completely exposing yourself to see what you’re doing!) there are a variety of wonderful products out there to help make your venture out of the house with baby, a little more comfortable, not to mention stylish.

The most common problems with trying to cover up with a blanket while nursing are, you can’t see what you are doing, baby and mom both get hot and sweaty, and baby doesn’t like the blanket draped over their face. Claire Ekelund, a native of England who now resides with her husband and two daughters in sunny California, decided to do something about it. Hooter Hiders were born and were instantly a must have for every hot mama around.

By using a blend of beautiful, modern fabrics and the all important patent-pending neck lines that allows mom and baby to see each other, this nursing cover cures all the standard public nursing complications. The light weight fabrics keep baby cool, the neck strap keeps the cover in place even when baby starts tugging, and the open neck line keeps baby from feeling confined. At Bebe au Lait you will find a huge assortment of modern and trendy fabrics for your very own Hooter Hider.

Remembering those first few public outings with my nursing son still makes me cringe. Still somewhat attached to my modesty I found myself nursing my precious baby in many a nasty public restroom stall. Often leaving him less than full in my hurry to get out of there. If only I’d known there were products like the Busy Baby Wrap out there to save me!

As with most ingenious mom-grown products, the Busy Baby Wrap was invented out of necessity. After giving birth to triplets nearly four months premature, designer Ashlie Belnap found herself caring for her babies in a crowded NICU with a huge audience. The tense feelings of exposure did little to help her bond with her little ones. This experience and those of friends and relatives led the way to the creation of this ultra-stylish, utterly chic nursing cover.

These light weight, 100% cotton cover ups are so modern and stylish, you wouldn’t believe they are actually nursing covers. Heck, I’d wear these out even if I didn’t have my babies with me. Pick from a variety of colors from classic to vintage and grab one to go with every outfit! Even baby will be delighted (and not over heated) to snuggle up for lunch in this fashionable creation.

No more excuses mommies! Grab baby, grab your hot new nursing accessory and hit the town! Everyone will be so busy awing over the beautiful fabrics or chic designs, they won’t even realize what you’re doing under there!
