Pretty Baby

When you were growing up, your beauty regimen consisted of a dollop of Johnson’s No More Tears and some powder doused on your tush. Today’s babies are a bit more discerning—after all, it’s tough competing with the Shiloh Jolie-Pitts and Kingston Rossdales out there. And while Junior may be way too young to get the highlights he craves, there’s no harm in pampering him with some of the high-end (and highly cool) baby grooming products out on the market.

Bobbi Brown Baby: We wouldn’t let Bobby Brown within 100 yards of our children. Bobbi Brown, however, can do what she likes. After all, this is the woman behind the incredible lipsticks and blushes that helped Mommy land Daddy. Brown has launched her own line of products for the little ones, including diaper balm, massage oil (yes, you read that right), body balm, gentle body wash/shampoo, and silkening powder. Everything comes in tasteful, baby blue illustrated packaging, with plenty of natural (and dermatologically tested) ingredients to boot.

Jenerations Baby: Peeing, pooping, crying, having to choke down stewed prunes—being a baby is stressful stuff. Thankfully Jenerations Baby has just the thing to help the little ones unwind after a tough day. Their line of pediatrician-approved grooming products—including hair gel, lotion, and shampoo/body wash—is all-natural and packed with ingredients like almond oil, chamomile, and rosemary to keep baby happy, healthy, and looking sharp.

Baby Silk: This baby line brands itself as the first created by pediatrician moms. So what has the doctor ordered? Your baby can indulge in hypoallergenic goodies like a scalp rub, liquid powder, cleanser, and a cream for “Soothing Bottom Relief.” Ahhhh. They also offer a slew of spa sets—great for baby shower gifts—and even a treatment cream for umbilical cords. Having an outie has never been so “in.”

Kiehl’s: Baby lip balm? Now you’re talking. From gentle cleansing milk to diaper rash ointment, Kiehl’s line of baby goods is guaranteed to be soothing enough for sensitive babies. Little animal lovers will also be glad to know that nothing is tested on animals, though we can’t promise that Madison won’t try feeding it to the family dog when she’s feeling feisty.

Weleda: When it comes to all-natural brands, Weleda is one of the best (for mommy and baby). In addition to the basics like calendula-enriched diaper cream, baby oil, and baby soap, the brand also offers life-savers (well, sanity-savers, anyway) like tummy oil for colicky kids and organic nursing tea to make breast feeding easier on the digestive system.

Mustela: Next time you’re stocking up on Molton Brown treats at Bath & Body Works, grab some Mustela products for the little one too. The brand specializes in gentle, hypoallergenic grooming products that even the fussiest tyke will approve of—think no-rinse cleansing cloths (excellent for travel), a hydra-stick cream that soothes all over, a hydrating spray, and—get this—baby-appropriate fragrance. Best of all, everything comes in Mustela’s signature “baby scent.” We wish we could get some for ourselves.
